Its core and foremost essence is to act as a carrier of culture. Only "perceptive design" can awaken people's authentic tactile connection with the world.
On March 31, 2026, Mr. Hu Zhile was invited to attend and speak at the UNWORKING 2026: The Evolution of the Future Workplace forum, co-hosted by ArchiDogs and Design Shanghai. He presented a keynote speech titled "The Texture of Space".
"Future office design will no longer focus on the accumulation of elements or flat visual symbols, but rather on creating a sense of genuine texture, allowing people within it to feel real connections, real emotions, and a real sense of belonging."
In rapidly evolving urban landscapes, every plot of land and every structure bears the accumulated legacy of time and culture. How can we design spaces that, once people step inside, allow them to not only perceive the passage of time and the profound depth of culture, but also embrace the distinctive experience crafted by thoughtful design?

On January 16, 2026, Mr. Hu Zhile, Founder and Design Director of WJ STUDIO, was invited as a guest speaker to the 13th Architizer A+Awards Asia Pacific Gala Ceremony.
In his keynote speech "Reflections on Innovative Thinking", Hu drew on his team's hands-on project practice to share a diverse portfolio of works, including MISA Studio, Rose Gallery, Lost Villa · Huanglong Island Lighthouse Hotel, and Lakeside Villa. Through these projects, he demonstrated how design can be harnessed to explore the possibilities of life, allowing a space to not only fulfill functional demands, but also embody the lifestyles, emotions and experiences of its users.
Innovative thinking is not the blind pursuit of form, but a return to the very essence of design. It calls for holistic consideration of the urban interface, interdisciplinary integration, and the operational closed loop of a space, ensuring that a design can both respond to its immediate context and reserve room for future evolution. A designer's mission is to imbue a space with enduring vitality, enabling every user to discover the possibilities of self and life within it.
