Revitalizing a Traditional Garden
Nestled in Nanxun Ancient Town, Nanxun District, Huzhou City, Yingyuan Hotel occupies the former residence of Chen Xiong, one of the renowned "Eight Bulls" of Nanxun. To its west lies the traditional garden, Yingyuan, amidst a vicinity rich with cultural heritage; within a kilometer radius, numerous protected historic sites, along with a plethora of residential structures dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties, grace the area.
The transformation of Yingyuan Hotel embarked on a journey to invigorate the historic Yingyuan Garden, while meticulously respecting its traditions. By meticulously reorganizing spatial relationships and adopting a multi-faceted approach that encompasses planning, gardening, and spatial design, the project aimed to recapture the ethereal essence of a Jiangnan-style garden. This meticulous revitalization not only preserves the legacy of the past but also breathes new life into the ancient garden, allowing visitors to re-imagine and experience the timeless beauty of a bygone era.
